⛵ Sailing Through Science: Sir Galeon’s Boat Challenge

During the months of November and December, our classroom transformed into a site of discovery and experimentation! Responding to the challenge set by Sir Galeon, our students embarked on a creative journey to build their own boats using colorful paper.

Once the boats were ready, we put them to the test in a basin of water. This hands-on activity was not just about building; it was an exciting exploration of science, where the children observed the boats in action and discovered fascinating properties of water firsthand. It was a wonderful way to blend artistic creation with early scientific inquiry! 💧✨

Kyriaki Kouroupi. 5th kindergarden. Ierapetra . Greece

The successful completion of the activities for the first two months of our European program, "CASTLES, WATER AND MYSTERIES: A MAGICAL STEAM JOURNEY WITH LITTLE AEOLUS," is announced. Every day, our students enjoy play and new knowledge, and are introduced experientially and playfully to the principles of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM). In September and October, our mission was to explore towers around the world. We learned what a tower is, traveled globally and got to know famous towers and their uses, created fantastic stories about heroes who lived in towers, designed, built, measured, and compared towers, and above all, we played, had fun, and sang wholeheartedly. We learned what Artificial Intelligence is and utilized it as luggage throughout this journey. We present to you some of our creations!

🤝 Planning for Success: Our Project Meetings & Collaboration! ✨

A successful eTwinning journey always starts with excellent teamwork! To ensure everything runs smoothly and to create the best possible experience for our students, the participating teachers have held a series of productive organizational meetings 💻🌍.

Here is a look behind the scenes at how teachers and students are working together to bring this project to life:

👩‍🏫 Teacher Collaboration: Setting the Map 🗺️

During our online meetings, teachers from all partner schools came together to design the perfect roadmap for our project. Together, we:

  • Co-created the timeline and detailed action plan for all activities.

  • Discussed innovative digital tools (like AnswerGarden, WordArt, and more) to make learning interactive and fun.

  • Divided responsibilities and set common goals to ensure a balanced and harmonious partnership.

🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Student Collaboration: Working Hand-in-Hand 🏰

Our students are at the very heart of this project! To foster true collaboration, the pupils will not work in isolation, but rather as a unified team:

  • Mixed-School Teams: Students from different countries will team up to complete activities, encouraging communication and practicing their English.

  • Interactive Digital Spaces: Pupils will use safe digital environments (like TwinSpace) to share their ideas, vote on project decisions, and upload their creative work.

  • Peer-to-Peer Learning: By exchanging ideas and exploring topics together, students will develop crucial 21st-century skills such as digital literacy, teamwork, and cultural awareness.

We are incredibly excited about this collaborative journey and can't wait to see the amazing things our teachers and students will achieve together! 🚀🌟
